Title: BoshansStudios here.

BoshansStudios - December 30, 2009 07:50 AM (GMT)
Hello Justin Boshans here, I see this site is doing well. I saw that there was already a topic about screen plays. I am also working on my own if you would like to see.

I guess I should tell a little about myself.

I am at the wonderful age of 18 and in my senior year of high school. I was born and raised in Saginaw Michigan and still live there.

I have enjoyed the Pendragon books for around 6 years now. I was introduced to them at a school book fair. That was the year "The Reality Bug" was released. I told my mom I wanted to get them but forgot to buy them. I received a nice surprise that year on Christmas morning when I grabbed a present and tore off the paper to reveal four Pendragon books. I immediately fell in love with them.

I was already deeply into animation back then and wanted to make a movie for the first book right after I got done reading it. I got 3 pages into writing the script and felt over whelmed. I am glad I found other people who shared my aspirations for a movie and that I did not lose interest in the series, or sight of my goals.

I have read all 10 books and bought Soldiers of Halla the day it came out. That's an interesting story too. I went into Barnes N Noble expecting there to be some kind of sign or something. I went to the childrens section figuring it was there and kept looking and looking. There was only one small section where the book was so I was kind of disappointed.

Did I mention I have been a stop motion animator for almost 7 years now? I've been doing it cheaply and sloppily for my experience though. I have recently started learning much better set building techniques, and puppet making. The set designing isn't too hard because it is just learning how to light better and making buildings and such. I already know how to use wood working tools ( except a lathe which is really important but I know the basic concept ) because of my wood shop class in sophomore year of high school. The puppet making is where the real challenge is. I wish I would have taken a metal working class. I have to learn how to use metal lathes and taps etc. This is so I can make the puppets armature or skeleton professionally so it is durable. I am also learning how to use other things than actual clay to make the puppets so they are easier to animate and won't get ruined. I am also learning a lot of things from the way The Nightmare Before Christmas was made. All of these things would greatly help if I ever made a movie.

I know I am jumping the gun here but I need some talented artists who are serious about this movie getting made to draw up character designs and such.

I hope I did not ramble on too much. I will show you guys some samples of my older animation work if you would like. Nice to meet you all,

Sincerely,
Justin Boshans

Good to see you back. I remember your project from the discussions we had a year or so ago.

Yes, samples of your work are appreciated. Also, tell anyone you know about the series and/or this site, especially artists. We have certain sketches rendered here already, but it's currently slow moving.

Plenty of active discussions going on about the look of the characters and such, if that helps any with your project. I'm interested to see what a stop-motion flume looks like activating. :P

If necessary, I'll add a separate section for discussion/planning of your project for those interested. May also help keep the Hollywood-scale discussion on track.

Once again, welcome. :)
