Title: IMPORTANT: Cast Lists
Description: Sign-up Sheet

Saint Kane - April 17, 2010 11:36 PM (GMT)
As you can see in the other two topics in this forum (MoD, LCoF), I've been compiling very complete cast lists, right down to minor roles and extras needed. It is a somewhat lengthy task, because while scanning the pages for characters and people, you'll suddenly find yourself reading and distracted from the main goal. :D I know I have been.

And that is up to you. If you want to re-read a book, go for it, you'll end up more familiar with the material and as long as you write down each character you bump into, we make progress.

Also, unless the person in a scene says something or does something significant, they won't need to be credited and will fall into the extras category. If they do have a line or are not part of the background, mark them as Man #1 etc.

Now, we need the volunteers:

#1 MoD- Saint Kane [DONE]

#2 LCoF- Saint Kane [DONE]

#3 NW- Laberge's girl [DONE]

#4 RB- Laberge's girl [DONE]

#5 BW- Laberge's girl [DONE]

#6 RoZ-Laberge's girl [DONE]

#7 QG- Laberge's girl [DONE]

#8 PoR- LaBerge's girl [DONE]

#9 RR- Akuuntus [DONE]

#10 SoH- Unwound Midnight [DONE]

You might not have the time to work until the summer starts, but now is the time to claim your favorite book, or the most interesting.

alkaria~vs~cloral - April 18, 2010 04:29 PM (GMT)
I can do RoZ. I have to read it anyway and scan that sort of material for a school project.

Saint Kane - April 19, 2010 05:32 AM (GMT)
Excellent!

Unwound Midnight - April 22, 2010 03:54 AM (GMT)
I'm willing to do anything, just give me a title and I'll start. :)

Saint Kane - April 22, 2010 06:43 AM (GMT)
Well alrighty! Assemble the cast for SoH since you're taking notes on it as well. :) Lucky, you get to write in all the Travelers and everything. Then again, you also have Kagan and Rellin and Eelong things and people from every territory. So good luck to you. :)

Unwound Midnight - April 22, 2010 07:09 PM (GMT)
Eelong, I only really have to worry about the main gar/humans- really, you can cover many of them with extras. {I'm a theater girl, I know these things.}

Saint Kane - April 22, 2010 07:17 PM (GMT)
True, I'm just saying that SoH revisits a lot of the characters on other territories. So the Supporting cast list will be longer than the others.

Also, unless the person in a scene says something or does something significant, they won't need to be credited and will fall into the extras category. If they do have a line or are not part of the background, mark them as Man #1 etc.

Unwound Midnight - April 22, 2010 07:18 PM (GMT)
Yeah. Ik.

Unwound Midnight - May 13, 2010 12:43 AM (GMT)
DONE!!!

dimond_017 - June 17, 2010 02:51 AM (GMT)
I can do Black Water if no one else wants to. :)

Saint Kane - June 17, 2010 04:03 AM (GMT)
Alright :)

LaBerge's girl - June 17, 2010 12:37 PM (GMT)
I can do Pilgrims of Rayne.

LaBerge's girl - June 23, 2010 08:40 PM (GMT)
If no one else wants to, I can do Raven Rise.

Unwound Midnight - June 23, 2010 10:52 PM (GMT)
I can do RB (Even though it is my least favorite).

Akuuntus - June 24, 2010 02:58 AM (GMT)
Hey I'm a newbie. Just for clarification, If you pick one of these books, do you have to do a character-specific profile like this: http://thependragonmovie.com/index.php?showtopic=81 , or just a list of every character like this: http://thependragonmovie.com/index.php?showtopic=135 ?

LaBerge's girl already offered, but I think I can do Raven Rise. I only own books 6-10 and it's the only one of those that's not taken.

LaBerge's girl - June 24, 2010 03:03 AM (GMT)
Hello Akuuntus!

Welcome to the site :)

If you'd like to do Raven Rise, by all means, go for it! As for the setup, you don't have to go through and complete a profile for each and every character. Simply go through and place the characters as either Major, Middle or Minor Role as they appear in the book. Basically, go through and follow along with Saint Kane's layout.

Saint Kane - June 24, 2010 07:23 AM (GMT)
Just a character list.
After the list is complete, we'll establish all the listed characters' descriptions in new topics.

Akuuntus - June 25, 2010 04:37 PM (GMT)
Thanks. I think I will sign up for Raven Rise.

Oh and also, is the character list supposed to be in order of importance? Or can they be ordered in any way?

Akuuntus - June 26, 2010 05:33 AM (GMT)
Posted a new topic with what I have so far on RR: http://thependragonmovie.com/index.php?sho...=0#entry3700671

I listed them by importance. Look it over and tell me what to fix, please. Thanks.

EDIT: Finished! The topic description still says incomplete, if someone can tell me how to fix that it would be awesome.

But the Raven Rise Cast List is now done! :lol:

Saint Kane - June 29, 2010 08:25 PM (GMT)
Alright, excellent work.
Additionally, the next step is to take each character list and create a topic for every character that needs describing. So "Aquaneer #1" does not need a topic, as it is a generic character that will fit the general appearance of others of his culture (Clorans).

Here is the format for those topics, so that you can create them on your own.

--Moved the code to the next post below--

Copy the code, replacing the (BOOKCOLOR) with the appropriate color for that book, as listed on the right of the page. I included the specific color words, especially since Quillan Games uses a specific shade of orange.

We'll try to do this in order, completing all of LCoF's characters before moving on to NW, etc. With discussion in between. From there, all blue topics will be moved to the LCoF forum in the Display Case, along with relevant LCoF info from other forum sections (music and such).

Saint Kane - June 29, 2010 08:32 PM (GMT)
There are many characters. We'll go through them all eventually.

Just start a topic using the following format for the first post:

Replace BOOK COLOR with the code for the book as listed below.***
CODE
[color=(BOOKCOLOR)][u][b]Character[/b][/u][/color]

[b]Name:[/b]

[b]Age:[/b]

[b]Height:[/b]  [b]Weight:[/b]

[b]Eye Color:[/b]  [b]Hair Color:[/b]

[b]Facial Hair:[/b]

[b]Build:[/b]

[b](actor) Ethnicity:[/b]

[b](actor) Nationality (optional):[/b]

[b]Accent:[/b]

[color=(BOOKCOLOR)][u][b]Acting[/b][/u][/color]
[b]New/Fresh Actor:[/b] Yes|No

[b]Personality:[/b]

For the New/Fresh Actor category, you will simply use the bold tag to select either yes or no. Like this:
CODE
[b]New/Fresh Actor:[/b] [b]Yes[/b]|No
New/Fresh Actor: Yes|No

-OR-
CODE
[b]New/Fresh Actor:[/b] Yes|[b]No[/b]
New/Fresh Actor: Yes|No

***Book colors
CODE
[color=red]Merchant of Death
[color=blue]Lost City of Faar
[color=grey]Never War
[color=lime]Reality Bug
[color=green]Black Water
[color=maroon]Rivers of Zadaa
[color=FF3300]Quillan Games
[color=teal]Pilgrims of Rayne
[color=purple]Raven Rise
[color=cyan]Soldiers of Halla
When posting a topic, you should also put the book color in the Topic Color field.
At this point, the book color will be that of the first book the character appears in physically.

LaBerge's girl - July 2, 2010 03:57 AM (GMT)
I see there is only one remaining...RB. Could I have the honor of completing the final Cast List if nobody else plans on doing that one? :P

Saint Kane - July 2, 2010 08:12 PM (GMT)
...yes? :P

LaBerge's girl - July 2, 2010 08:16 PM (GMT)
Haha, I guess I went ahead and took it anyway :lol:
I get ahead of myself a lot...

So that's it then for the Character Casting?

Saint Kane - July 2, 2010 08:18 PM (GMT)
I think so. I'd like to do NW today, but I have another shift to work and then going to a concert, so it will wait.

LaBerge's girl - July 2, 2010 08:20 PM (GMT)
A concert? Sounds exciting :D

Hope you have fun.

Akuuntus - July 2, 2010 09:48 PM (GMT)
Unfortunately I can't really help with specific character descriptions until we get to book 6, since I don't have books 1-5 to re-read for reference. I don't want to make one with inaccurate info.

Have fun at that concert, btw. :D

collins132 - July 14, 2010 11:40 PM (GMT)
I would love to play the role of Bobby Pendragon. I have just turned fourteen this July. I am Bobby's heigth. I have brown eyes, just like he does. I also have brown hair, just like him. I am exceptionally talented at acting and I think that acting like a fourteen year old boy transported to these new realms is an interesting plot. I have read all of the books and I myself am writing a screenplay adaption for the first book, "The Merchant of Death". It is extremely faithful to the book; almost too faithful.

Saint Kane - July 15, 2010 06:20 AM (GMT)
Well, it would be up to the casting director if/when this project is put into production, but unfortunately, that won't be for at least 2 years or more I'm sure, and by then anybody who's 14 now would be too old.

Courtneyisababe - July 25, 2010 05:00 PM (GMT)
Hey I'm new here but I have been awaiting a Pendragon movie for a while. I have the characters marked down to a tee in my head. So I would like to share it with you guys and maybe give some insight in which you may not have looked. Don't worry, Megan Fox isn't playing Courtney ;).

This is for the Pendragon series as a whole and not one single movie, so these actors may be better in one or 2 of the films, but not the others.

BOBBY- Toss up

Cameron Bright or Logan Lerman (maybe)

COURTNEY- Anna Sophia Robb (google her) she seems perfect. And at a great age where she can be in the first movie and then age nicely. Or Willa Holland(If they want a more older look, like most movies go for anyways)

MARK- Anton Yelchin (as long as the movies get made soon) looks pretty young still.
Or Paul Dano.

SPADER- Carter Jenkins. Joseph Gordon-Levitt would be a perfect Spader if he wasn't so old. Still looks very young tho, possibly could play him in later books.

AJA- Emma Roberts.

PATRICK- Justin Long, Cillian Murphy

Now clearly this is just my own views on the movie. But whoever is doing casting ideas and maybe submitting it to D.J, then hopefully you can find some ideas. Then again I may be completely wrong haha. So anyways I had fun thinking about it.

Akuuntus - July 26, 2010 04:11 AM (GMT)
To Courtneyisababe and collins132:

Your ideas on actors are fine and welcome, but shouldn't be on this thread. This is the CHARACTER casting thread, about the specific descriptions and qualities of the characters as described in the books. You should post things like that in the ACTOR casting threads.

Or, of course, you could help contribute to the Character Casting. Or any of the other projects. ;)

Saint Kane - July 26, 2010 06:08 AM (GMT)
Right. The main thing about the younger cast members is that any actor who is older than 10 right now would certainly be too old by the time pre-production started, let alone the filming itself.
They're essentially going to be fresh faces, cast much like Harry Potter was, with auditions.

I like the suggestions for Patrick though, though Justin's more of a comedy guy and Cillian Murphy does suspense and creepy roles better. He might actually be a candidate for Saint Dane.

(and Akuuntus is right ;))

The Z - July 27, 2010 04:00 PM (GMT)
I'll do RB. I'm almost finished it.

The Z - July 27, 2010 04:08 PM (GMT)
But just as a list, not descriptions.

I've done that, but where can I post? On the forum, or somewhere else?

Post a New Topic here.

Really it is feasible that the casting producers could cast older actors for the other new generation travellers. Like Aja is what, 17, when RB comes around? POSSIBLY, a 22 year old could do that. Same for the other travelers.

Saint Kane - July 28, 2010 09:56 PM (GMT)
That is possible. And Patrick was about how old? I always pictured mid 20s. Which I suppose we'll figure out upon doing his character for Never War.

Unwound Midnight - July 28, 2010 10:52 PM (GMT)
Mid Twenties, early 30s at most. Although he could be a very intelligent skip thru school person, making him late teens early 20s.

LaBerge's girl - July 30, 2010 09:33 PM (GMT)
If nobody has claimed NW, or RoZ, I don't mind doing up Cast Lists up for those. I can do one, or both. Either is fine by me ;)
